Sunny Iris — Two-Sunflower Bouquet with Pink Carnations
Two large sunflowers set against pink carnations, purple statice and white baby’s breath, hand-wrapped in kraft paper with a cream ribbon. This is the fullest of our sunflower bouquets — where our single-sunflower designs work as a bold, minimalist focal-point arrangement, this one is built for more visual weight and colour variety.
What’s in the Bouquet
- 2 sunflowers — large focal blooms, selected on the morning of arrangement
- Pink carnations — long-lasting blooms adding warmth and a second colour note against the yellow
- Purple statice — papery, long-lasting clusters providing depth and contrast
- White baby’s breath — the fine filler that lifts and rounds out the arrangement
- Kraft paper wrap with cream ribbon
- Complimentary message card — write your message at checkout and our florists will hand-write it
One Sunflower or Two?
Worth knowing before you choose, since we have both: a single sunflower reads as bold and deliberate — one strong focal bloom that photographs cleanly and holds its own without crowding. Two sunflowers, as here, gives a fuller, more layered bouquet with additional colour from the carnations, at a larger overall scale. Neither is more “correct” — it comes down to how full you want the arrangement to look.
Best Suited For
- Graduations — sunflowers photograph vividly against academic gowns; see our graduation bouquets
- Birthdays and get well — bright and generous without being overstated
- Congratulations and new beginnings — a fuller gesture than a single-stem bouquet
- Gifts for men — sunflowers read as celebratory rather than romantic; see our flowers for him range
The Sunflower Bouquet Range
This is one of several sunflower bouquets we make, each slightly different in scale and presentation:
- Sunflower Amelia — single sunflower, kraft wrap, $65
- Sunflower Iris Blue — single sunflower, distinctive blue wrap, $55
- Sunny Iris (this bouquet) — two sunflowers, fuller design, $80
If you’re choosing between them, size and wrap colour are the main differences — all share the same warm, celebratory sunflower character.
Caring for Sunflowers
Sunflowers drink considerably more than most cut flowers:
- Check the water daily. Sunflowers can empty a vase in 24 hours. Thirst, not age, is the usual reason they wilt early
- Trim on arrival and re-trim every couple of days at a 45° angle under running water
- Use a heavier vase — the heads are top-heavy and will tip a light one
- Strip submerged leaves and change the water every two days
- Keep away from aircon vents, direct sun and fruit bowls. Ripening fruit releases ethylene gas, which ages flowers quickly
Statice will outlast everything else and dries well — once the fresh blooms fade, the remaining stems make a small dried arrangement.
