Solitude — White Roses and Violet Eustoma, for the Quieter Occasions
Solitude is the bouquet we reach for when red roses would say the wrong thing. White roses for sincerity and remembrance, violet eustoma — lisianthus, with its ruffled rose-like blooms — for grace, and light purple statice threaded through for texture, all framed by the deep green of cordyline and podocarpus leaves. The result is calm rather than passionate, considered rather than showy: a bouquet that suits sympathy, recovery, gratitude and quiet affection equally.
The white-and-purple palette is deliberately uncommon. Most of what fills a florist’s window is red or pink; this reads as something chosen with more thought, which is exactly why it lands for the recipient who appreciates restraint.
What’s in the Bouquet
- White roses — for sincerity, remembrance and elegance
- Violet eustoma (lisianthus) — ruffled, rose-like blooms in soft purple; one of the most refined flowers we stock
- Light purple statice — papery, textural, and a natural everlasting; it air-dries and keeps its colour for months
- Cordyline & podocarpus leaves — structured green foliage that frames the blooms and holds the bouquet’s shape
- Complimentary message card, handwritten
When to Send It
Because it isn’t romantic, Solitude works where a red bouquet would be inappropriate or clumsy. It’s a considered get-well gift, a gentle sympathy or condolence arrangement, a “thinking of you” for a friend having a hard time, and an elegant thank-you for someone whose taste runs to the understated. The white and purple also read beautifully at a small ceremony or an intimate dinner table.
Keeping It Fresh
- Unwrap and trim 2cm off each stem at a 45° angle, under running water.
- Clean vase, fresh water, and the flower food sachet provided. Eustoma is thirsty — keep the water topped up.
- Change the water every two days and re-trim the rose and eustoma stems.
- Keep away from direct sun, air-con vents and ripening fruit.
Save the statice. When the roses and eustoma are done, pull out the statice stems and hang them upside down in a dry, shaded spot for a week or two — they’ll keep their purple for months as a small dried arrangement.
