Artificial Monstera Plant — The Split-Leaf Look, Permanently
The monstera earned its place on every mood board for one reason: those leaves. Broad, glossy, split at the edges and punched with holes — no other houseplant reads as instantly. The problem is that a real Monstera deliciosa only produces those fenestrations when it’s happy, and in an air-conditioned Singapore office or a dim corner of a flat it usually isn’t. Low light gives you plain heart-shaped leaves on long stems; overwatering gives you root rot; and the whole thing is toxic to cats and dogs.
This artificial monstera sidesteps all of it. At approximately 60cm (2ft) tall it’s the size that sits on a desk, a console table or a low shelf without crowding it, and every leaf on it is already split. The stems are wired, so you can open the crown out or gather it in, and it arrives pre-potted and ready to place.
Where It Works
- Desks and workstations — a plant that survives the weekend, the aircon and the person who never waters
- Sideboards, TV consoles and hallway tables — the mixed leaf sizes give it depth from every angle
- Bathrooms and bedrooms — the humid-loving look without the humidity requirement
- Reception counters and café shelves — greenery at eye level, zero maintenance rota
- Homes with pets — the monstera you can have when the real one is off the list
What You Get
- Height: approx. 60cm / 2ft, including pot
- Foliage: green Monstera deliciosa leaves in mixed sizes, each with natural splits and holes
- Stems: wired, adjustable — shape the crown to suit the space
- Pot: round black nursery pot, designed to sit inside a decorative planter
- Assembly: none. Unbox, fan the leaves out, place.
What Makes an Artificial Monstera Look Real
Cheap artificial monsteras give themselves away in three ways: every leaf is the same size, the finish is high-gloss plastic, and there are only five or six leaves on a bare stem. Look for leaf-size variation, a matte or semi-matte surface with visible veining, and a full enough head that you can’t see straight through it. Photos flatten all of this — which is why we’d rather you came and stood in front of the one at KINEX Mall.
Styling It
The nursery pot is meant to disappear inside something better. A 15–20cm ceramic or fibreglass planter finishes it; dress the surface with moss to hide the pot rim. It groups well — pair it with a trailing plant on a shelf above, or two or three small artificial plants of different leaf shapes on a sideboard.
Care
Large leaves show dust more than fine foliage does, so wipe them with a soft dry cloth every couple of weeks, or blow the crown out with a hairdryer on cool. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun — the colour will hold indefinitely indoors but Singapore’s midday sun will fade untreated foliage over a few months. No water, no feed, no repotting.
For Offices and Commercial Projects

We supply in quantity, deliver ready to place, and can pair planters across a floor plate.
