Memories

Memories — White and Purple Condolence Flower Stand

A standing tribute built around dendrobium orchids in white and purple, with white daisies, eustoma and matthiola through the body of the arrangement and a monstera leaf anchoring the base. It stands at roughly 5.5 to 6 feet — the height that reads properly across a void deck or funeral parlour hall.

The purple is what distinguishes it. Where an all-white stand is stark and formal, purple orchids soften the arrangement without breaking convention. Both are entirely appropriate at a Singapore wake; they simply feel different.

White or Purple — Which to Choose

This is the question we’re asked most often, and there is no wrong answer:

  • All white is the most formal and the most universally safe. It is the traditional choice and never reads as inappropriate in any context — our Silence Moment stand is the all-white option
  •

  • White with purple is widely accepted at Chinese and Christian services and reads as gentler and warmer. It is often chosen for a woman, for someone who lived a long life, or where the family has indicated they’d prefer something less austere

What is avoided in nearly all Singapore contexts is red, and bright celebratory colours generally. Beyond that, white and purple are both firmly within convention.

What’s in the Arrangement

  • White and purple dendrobium orchids — long-lasting sprays that hold their form through a multi-day wake better than almost any other bloom
  •

  • White daisies — simple, open flowers that soften the formality of orchids
  •

  • White eustoma (lisianthus) — ruffled, rose-like blooms adding depth without weight
  •

  • Matthiola (stock) — spired stems with a gentle, clean fragrance
  •

  • Monstera leaf and mixed foliage — framing the base and grounding the arrangement
  •

  • Stand with ribbon finishing
  •

  • Condolence banner, hand-written by our team

The Banner

Every stand includes a condolence banner. When you order, tell us:

  • The name of the deceased — as the family would like it written
  •

  • Your name, or your company name if sending on behalf of an organisation
  •

  • The language — English, Chinese, or both
  •

  • A short message if you’d like one, such as “Deepest Condolences” or “In Loving Memory”

If you’re unsure how to word it, tell us the relationship and we’ll suggest something appropriate. It’s a question we answer several times a week and there’s no awkwardness in asking.

Delivery to Wakes and Funeral Parlours

We deliver to void decks, funeral parlours, churches, temples and residential addresses across Singapore. Because wakes are arranged at short notice, we hold capacity for urgent condolence deliveries and will tell you plainly what is achievable rather than promising and failing.

When you contact us, have ready:

  1. The venue address — including block, void deck or parlour hall number
  2.

  3. The date and time the stand should arrive
  4.

  5. The banner wording — deceased’s name, sender’s name, language
  6.

  7. A contact number at the venue, if you have one

For anything urgent, call +65 6746 2486. A phone call is faster than a form when time matters.

Sending on Behalf of a Company

Corporate condolence stands are among our most frequent orders — sent by employers, business partners, clients and associations. At this tier they are a common choice for colleagues and business contacts, where a larger stand might read as disproportionate to the relationship. We handle company banner wording, multiple stands to one venue, and invoicing where required.

Pricing

$160. Because of the size, condolence stands are delivered rather than collected. For a larger tribute, see our Silence Moment stand at $250, or browse the full range of condolence stands.

Substitution

Occasionally a substitution is necessary to ensure your order arrives on time. A specific ribbon, wrapping or side flower may vary with availability. Our florists will always substitute an element of equal or greater value, and the size, form and colour palette of the arrangement will be preserved.

Choosing a Condolence Stand

Most people order condolence flowers only a handful of times, usually at short notice and unsure what is appropriate. Two questions come up every time.

What Size Is Appropriate?

TierTypically sent by
$160 — this standColleagues, business contacts, neighbours, friends of the family
$250 — Silence MomentEmployers, close friends, extended family, companies

These are conventions, not rules. What matters far more to a grieving family is that something arrived, not what it cost. If you're uncertain, the mid-tier is never wrong. See the full range.

White, or White with Colour?

All-white is the most formal and the most universally safe choice. White with purple reads as gentler and is widely accepted at Chinese and Christian services — often chosen for a woman, for someone who lived a long life, or where the family prefers something less austere. Red and bright celebratory colours are avoided in nearly all Singapore contexts.

What to Put on the Message Card

The message card carries the name of the deceased and the name of the sender. As an individual, your full name is appropriate; on behalf of a company, use the registered company name. Common message lines include Deepest Condolences, In Loving Memory and Rest in Peace. Chinese wording is available and frequently requested.

Where and When to Send

During the wake, send to the venue — an HDB void deck, funeral parlour hall, church or temple, with the block and hall number where you have them. Send as early in the wake period as you can; Singapore wakes typically run three to five days, and flowers arriving on the first or second day are seen by the most visitors. If you've only just heard, send anyway.

Once the wake has concluded, a hand bouquet or basket to the family home is more appropriate than a stand.
