⚠️ Lilies are toxic to cats. Please don’t send this to a household with one — rose or carnation bouquets are safe alternatives.

Sending Lilies in Singapore

Lilies sit at the top of most florists' ranges for good reason: the blooms are large, the fragrance carries, and a single stem flowers in sequence rather than all at once. But they behave differently from other cut flowers, and knowing how avoids two common disappointments.

They Arrive in Bud

Lilies are delivered mostly closed and open over two to three days. This is deliberate — fully open lilies are already partway through their life and bruise in transit. Delivered in bud, they open at home and the display lasts 7 to 10 days rather than 5 to 7. If your bouquet arrives with one or two blooms open, that's exactly right.

The Pollen Stains

Lily anthers carry rust-coloured pollen that permanently marks fabric, skin and surfaces. We remove the anthers before delivery, but blooms opening later will have their own — pinch them out with a tissue as each flower opens. If pollen lands on fabric, lift it with sticky tape rather than brushing, which grinds it into the weave.

Important: Lilies and Cats

Every part of a lily is severely toxic to cats — petals, leaves, pollen, and even the vase water. Ingestion, including pollen licked from fur, can cause acute kidney failure. If the recipient has a cat, please choose a different bouquet. Our rose and carnation arrangements are safe alternatives at a similar level, and we're happy to suggest something. Lilies are also toxic to dogs, though considerably less severely.

百合 and Chinese Wedding Tradition

Lily is 百合 (bǎi hé) in Chinese, echoing 百年好合 (bǎi nián hǎo hé) — "a hundred years of harmonious union." It's why lilies appear so consistently at Singapore weddings, engagement ceremonies and wedding banquets, and why they carry more meaning as a wedding or anniversary gift here than the flowers alone would suggest.

Delivery Policy

We deliver islandwide. Delivery charges apply and are shown at checkout, with a surcharge for Sentosa. Deliveries to airports, army camps and restricted areas cannot be accepted — see our shipping information for full details. Free self-collection is available at Craftway Floral, KINEX Mall #03-35, 11 Tanjong Katong Road, Singapore 437157.

Substitution Policy

Occasionally a substitution is necessary to ensure your order arrives on time — a specific wrapping colour, ribbon or side flower may vary with availability. Our florists will always substitute an element of equal or greater value, and the overall look and colour palette of the bouquet will be preserved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my lilies arrive closed?

That's intentional. Lilies are delivered mostly in bud and open over two to three days. Fully open lilies are already partway through their life and bruise in transit, so delivering in bud means they open at home and last longer — typically 7 to 10 days against 5 to 7 for most bouquets.

Are lilies safe around pets?

Not around cats. Every part of a lily — petals, leaves, pollen and even the vase water — is severely toxic to cats, and ingestion including pollen licked from fur can cause acute kidney failure. Please choose a different bouquet if the recipient has a cat; our rose and carnation bouquets are safe alternatives. Lilies are also toxic to dogs, though far less severely.

How do I deal with the pollen?

Pinch the anthers out with a tissue as each new bloom opens — we remove them before delivery, but later flowers produce their own. Lily pollen permanently stains fabric, skin and surfaces. If it does land on fabric, lift it with sticky tape rather than brushing, which grinds it into the weave.

How long will the bouquet last?

7 to 10 days, longer than most bouquets, because the stems flower in sequence rather than all at once. Trim the stems, use a tall heavy vase, change the water every two days, and remove faded blooms individually as the remaining buds continue to open.

How strong is the fragrance?

Oriental lilies are strongly scented — in a small air-conditioned flat that can be a lot of perfume. A living room or hallway suits them better than a bedroom. If a lighter scent is preferred, ask us about Asiatic lilies, which are far less fragrant.

What do lilies mean?

In Chinese, lily is 百合 (bǎi hé), echoing 百年好合 — "a hundred years of harmonious union" — which makes lilies a fixture at Singapore weddings and engagement celebrations. In Western tradition they signify purity, refined beauty and devotion.

Do you offer same-day flower delivery in Singapore?

Yes — same-day delivery is available islandwide for orders placed before our daily cut-off. Delivery charges apply and are shown at checkout, with a surcharge for Sentosa. See our shipping page for current times and rates.

Will the bouquet look exactly like the photo?

Very close, but fresh flowers are a natural product and availability shifts daily. Where a specific bloom, wrapping or ribbon isn't available, our florists substitute an element of equal or greater value while preserving the bouquet's overall size and colour palette. Bear in mind too that the photo shows the lilies open — yours will arrive partly in bud.
