How to Keep Them Fresh

1. Unwrap and trim. Cut 2–3cm off each stem at a 45° angle under running water.
2. Use clean, cool water. Change it every two days and rinse the vase each time.
3. Strip submerged leaves. Anything below the waterline rots and clouds the water.
4. Keep away from aircon vents, direct sun and fruit bowls. Ripening fruit releases ethylene gas, which ages flowers quickly.
5. Remove spent blooms. Statice and sweet William outlast the roses and carnations — pulling faded blooms keeps the bouquet looking intentional for longer.

The statice dries particularly well. Once the fresh blooms fade, hang the remaining stems upside down and you’ll have a small dried arrangement that lasts months.
