Artificial Dischidia Hanging Plant — A Cascade of Trailing Greenery
Dischidia — with its slender vines of small, round, coin-like leaves — is one of the prettiest trailing plants there is, and one of the fussier ones to keep as a live plant, needing just the right humidity and light to trail well indoors. This artificial dischidia hanging plant gives you that delicate cascading curtain permanently: vines of round green leaves spilling abundantly from the pot, with full foliage on every side so it reads lush from below and around.
It’s a different look from a hanging fern. Where a fern is a dense, full mass, the dischidia is soft, fine and flowing — a gentle green curtain rather than a solid dome. At approximately 50cm long and 35cm wide, it’s taller than it is wide, so it’s at its best somewhere with height for the vines to trail: a high shelf, the top of a cabinet, a stairwell, or a balcony bracket.
Where It Works
- High shelves & cabinet tops — vines trailing down the side, softening a hard edge
- Corners & stairwells — a delicate green cascade filling vertical space
- Balconies & covered patios — flowing greenery on a wall bracket (see the sun note below)
- Bathrooms & bedrooms — the trailing-plant look without the humidity fuss
- Cafés, salons & retail — soft hanging greenery that never sheds or needs tending
What You Get
- Size: approx. 50cm drop × 35cm wide
- Foliage: trailing vines of small round green leaves, full on all sides
- Pot: hanging pot with chain or cord, ready to hang
- Assembly: none — unbox, separate the vines, hang
Honestly, Why Artificial
- No watering or misting — the biggest reason trailing plants fail indoors
- No pollen and no soil — nothing shed onto the floor below, and no live-plant pollen
- No pests — nothing to attract fungus gnats or mealybugs in Singapore’s humidity
- Stays full — it won’t go leggy or bald where the light doesn’t reach, the way a real dischidia does
A Note on Placement & Sun
It suits indoor spots and sheltered outdoor ones — a covered balcony, a porch, a walkway out of direct sun. Prolonged direct sunlight in Singapore will fade artificial foliage over a few months, so for a fully exposed, sunny railing, ask us about UV-treated options. Anywhere shaded or indoors, the colour holds indefinitely.
Care
Every few weeks, dust the leaves with a soft dry cloth, or take it down and give the vines a gentle shake outdoors. No watering, feeding, misting or re-potting — ever.
