Contented Hearts — Pink Carnations That Actually Last

Contented Hearts is built around soft pink carnations, punctuated with coral hypericum berries and softened with white baby’s breath. The coral-pink wrap picks up the berry tones rather than fighting them, and the whole thing reads warm and generous instead of formal.

The reason we recommend this bouquet so often isn’t the look — it’s the longevity. Pink carnations will hold for seven to ten days in Singapore’s climate, comfortably outlasting a rose bouquet of the same price. If your flowers are going to a hospital ward, an office reception, or someone you won’t see again for a while, that difference matters more than the initial photograph.

• 6 stalks — S$60. A considered, well-proportioned bouquet. Right for a thank-you, a get-well visit, or a desk delivery where space is tight.

Keeping It Fresh

1. Unwrap and trim 2cm off each stem at an angle — cut carnations between the nodes, not on the swollen joint, or they won’t drink properly.
2. Use a clean vase, fresh water, and the flower food sachet provided.
3. Change the water every two days and re-trim.
4. Keep away from direct sun, air-con vents and ripening fruit — carnations are unusually sensitive to the ethylene gas fruit gives off.
