Artificial Yucca Plant — 150cm
Spine-tipped, rigid leaves radiating outward in a rosette form on woody trunks, standing at approximately 150cm. Yucca is one of the most graphic silhouettes in decorative planting — rigid, spiky and deliberately architectural where most indoor greenery is soft, which makes it a genuine statement piece rather than background foliage.
The Plant Singapore’s Climate Rules Out
Yucca is a desert plant, native to the arid southwestern United States and Mexico. It wants sharp drainage, dry air and long hours of direct sun. Singapore offers near-constant humidity, heavy rainfall and warm wet soil — close to the exact opposite. Grown here, yucca reliably develops crown rot and root rot, and container specimens fail even faster because the soil never fully dries between waterings. This artificial version gives you the yucca silhouette without fighting a climate the plant was never built for.
Soft Tips — Worth Knowing
Real yucca leaves end in a hard, needle-sharp point — several species are called Spanish bayonet for good reason, and the tips can genuinely puncture skin. Living yucca is a poor choice near walkways, doorways and homes with small children for exactly this reason. This version has the same blade profile with soft, safe tips — specified in homes, offices and family spaces where the real plant simply couldn’t be.
A Different Design Language
Yucca doesn’t read as tropical. It reads as arid, modernist and architectural — the visual family of concrete, terrazzo, pale timber and clean lines rather than rattan and jungle greens. In a scheme that already has palms and broad-leaved foliage, a yucca introduces genuine contrast rather than more of the same.
Construction & Detail
- Spine-tipped leaves with a natural taper and slight twist
- Woody-finish trunks replicating real yucca’s ridged, scarred bark
- Rosette leaf arrangement at the crown of each trunk
- Matte foliage finish with a pale glaucous cast
- Plastic pot base for stability
Where It Works
- Modern and minimalist interiors — clean lines and hard materials
- Home offices and studies — a compact statement plant at desk-adjacent scale
- Reception areas — strong silhouette at a size that fits most rooms
- Retail and showrooms — particularly furniture, lifestyle and design retail
Styling Notes
Open every rosette fully. Pull the blades outward until each rosette forms a complete sphere of foliage. A half-opened rosette is the most obvious tell on this plant.
Keep the blades rigid and straight. Yucca leaves are stiff — don’t let them droop or curve downward.
Choose the planter carefully. Concrete, terrazzo, matte ceramic and stone suit yucca far better than rattan or woven baskets.
Top with pebbles or gravel, not moss. Moss suggests damp; gravel suggests arid — a small detail that completes the effect.
The Same Plant, a Taller Option
If you need more presence, our 1.8m yucca uses the same spine-tipped rosette form at a genuine statement scale, suited to larger rooms and commercial spaces.
Care
Wipe or dust every few weeks. A cool-setting hairdryer clears dust between narrow blades. Avoid oil-based furniture sprays. Kept indoors, expect years of service with no colour change.
Outdoor Use
Suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as covered balconies and verandas. Prolonged direct sun and heavy rain shorten the life of any artificial foliage.
