How big is the artificial pear?

What is it made from, and does it feel realistic?
A moulded foam core with a textured skin finish and a natural woody stem. It has enough weight to sit properly in a bowl rather than rolling around, and the surface is semi-matte with speckling rather than glossy — the finish is what separates convincing artificial fruit from obvious plastic.
How many should I buy?
Odd numbers look natural — three or five pieces for a standard bowl. A single piece works as an accent on a shelf or tray, but for a fruit bowl you'll want several, ideally mixed with other varieties from our artificial fruits range.
Can I mix it with real fruit?
You can, but it's rarely convincing — the real fruit ages while the artificial doesn't, and after a few days the contrast gives it away. A fully artificial bowl with several varieties looks far better.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. A little mild soap will handle kitchen grease. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which strip the surface finish, and don't submerge it in water.
Will the colour fade?
Not under normal indoor conditions. Prolonged direct sunlight will fade any pigmented décor over time, so keep it away from an unshaded window or a sunny windowsill.
Is it safe around children?
It is a decorative item, not a toy, and it isn't edible. Because it looks convincingly like real fruit, keep it out of reach of young children and away from anyone who might mistake it for food. The stem may detach with rough handling.
