Artificial Skybird Plant — 180cm
Long, feathered, strap-like fronds radiating from multiple branches, standing at approximately 180cm — tall enough to genuinely fill an entryway, foyer or the corner of a large living room. The Skybird’s leaf form is deeply tropical without being fussy, which is why it reads as lush without looking busy even at this scale.
Choosing Between Our Four Skybird Sizes
| Height | Best position |
|---|---|
| 100cm | Beside furniture, sideboards, low ceilings |
| 4ft / 122cm | Standard room corners, doorway flanks |
| 180cm (this) | Entryways, foyers, large living rooms |
| 220cm | Double-height spaces, atriums, lobbies |
At 180cm, this sits between the standard 4ft size and the full double-height 220cm version — genuine presence in a large room without needing the 2.8m ceiling clearance the tallest size requires.
Why Artificial Makes Sense
Large-leaved tropicals like the Skybird want bright, indirect light for several hours a day — which most Singapore flats, condos and offices simply don’t have. North-facing living rooms, internal corridors and entryways are exactly the spaces people want to decorate, and exactly the ones where broad-leaved plants split, brown at the edges and slowly give up. This version delivers the same silhouette in the darkest corner of a room and holds it for years, with none of the soil, gnats or leaf litter real foliage brings indoors.
Construction & Detail
- Individually formed leaves with moulded veining and a natural taper
- Multiple branches at staggered heights, replicating natural clumping growth
- Wire-cored petioles that can be angled and fanned independently to build a natural crown
- Matte foliage finish
- Round plastic pot for stability
Where It Works
- Entryways and foyers — the height that greets visitors at the door
- Large living rooms — filling a corner that a shorter plant can’t anchor
- Offices and receptions — part of our office artificial plant programme
- Sheltered balconies and covered walkways — away from prolonged direct sun and driving rain
Styling Notes
Fan the leaves, don’t bunch them. Spread the fronds so leaves sit at varied heights and face different directions. Bunched foliage is the main reason artificial broadleaf plants read as fake.
Pot it up in a ceramic, rattan or concrete planter, 35–40cm — browse our planter range.
Care
Wipe the leaves with a soft dry cloth every few weeks — broad leaves show dust readily. Avoid oil-based furniture sprays. Kept indoors, expect years of service with no colour change.
Outdoor Use
Suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as covered balconies and verandas. Prolonged direct sun and heavy rain shorten the life of any artificial foliage.
