Artificial Schefflera (Umbrella Tree) 3.5ft — Full, Leafy, Familiar
The schefflera arboricola — better known as the umbrella tree or dwarf umbrella tree — is one of the most recognisable houseplants there is. Its glossy leaflets radiate out in clusters from a central point, each cluster shaped like a little umbrella, giving the plant a full, leafy, friendly character. As a real plant it’s popular but not effortless: it drops leaves when it’s unhappy, gets leggy in low light, and is mildly toxic to pets. This artificial schefflera gives you the lush umbrella-tree look permanently, with none of that.
Standing approximately 3.5ft / 120cm tall, it’s a floor plant with real density — fuller and leafier than a palm, softer and more rounded than a big-leaf plant like a monstera. It reads as classic, comfortable greenery: the kind of plant that makes a room feel lived-in and cared-for.
Where It Works
- Living room corners — beside a sofa, an armchair or a bookcase, filling the space with leafy fullness
- Beside furniture & low consoles — a soft green companion at furniture height
- Offices & meeting rooms — a familiar, unfussy plant that never needs tending
- Cafés, clinics & reception areas — dense greenery with no leaf litter or watering rota
- Homes with pets — the umbrella-tree look without the toxicity of the real plant

Why “Umbrella Tree”?
The name comes from the leaves. Each leaf is made of several leaflets joined at a central point and radiating outward — like the spokes of an umbrella, or a small green hand. It’s this distinctive leaf shape that makes the schefflera so recognisable, and it’s faithfully reproduced here, glossy and full, right down to the branched clusters.
Styling It
The nursery pot is functional, meant to sit inside something decorative. Drop it into a ceramic, ratten or fibreglass planter and finish with moss to hide the rim. The schefflera’s dense, rounded shape pairs well with a taller, more architectural plant behind it, or works alone as a full corner filler. Fan out the foliage when it comes out of the box — it’s packed for transit and opens up considerably.
A Note on Placement & Sun
Scheffleras are indoor, shade-tolerant plants, so an artificial one suits interiors and sheltered outdoor spots — out of direct sun. Prolonged direct sunlight in Singapore will fade artificial foliage over a few months, so keep it back from a bright window, or ask us about UV-treated options for exposed positions. Anywhere shaded or indoors, the colour holds indefinitely.
Care
Wipe the glossy leaves with a soft dry cloth every few weeks — the flat, shiny leaflets show dust, so a quick pass keeps it looking fresh — or use a hairdryer on cool to blow dust from the clusters. No watering, feeding or re-potting — ever.
