Artificial Ficus Lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig) — 110cm
Large, violin-shaped leaves in a mixture of light and dark green, with wavy margins and prominent veining — Ficus lyrata, better known as the fiddle leaf fig, is one of the most recognisable statement plants in modern interior design. Its leaf shape is genuinely distinctive: broad at the base, narrowing and then flaring again toward the tip, echoing the outline of the instrument it’s named for.
Fiddle Leaf Fig or Rubber Plant?
These two Ficus species are constantly confused, including in listings that should know better. The fiddle leaf fig (this plant) has large, matte, violin-shaped leaves with wavy edges and a sparser, more sculptural growth habit. The rubber plant (Ficus elastica) has smaller, broad, oval, deeply glossy leaves and a more compact, upright form. If you’re matching a reference photo: matte and violin-shaped means fiddle leaf fig; glossy and oval means rubber plant. See our artificial rubber plant if that’s the one you’re picturing.
Why Artificial Makes Sense for This Species
Real fiddle leaf fig has earned a reputation as one of the more demanding popular houseplants — it’s notorious for dropping leaves in response to being moved, rotated, or given inconsistent watering, and it wants bright, filtered light that few Singapore interiors provide without a well-placed window. Like rubber plant, its sap is also a mild skin and stomach irritant if a stem or leaf is broken, worth knowing if pets or small children are around.
This artificial version reproduces the exact leaf shape and two-tone colouring without any of that fragility — no leaf drop from a house move, no light requirement, no irritant sap.

Construction & Detail
- Individually moulded leaves with wavy margins and embossed veining matching the real plant’s texture
- Bendable stems that let you angle the crown to fit a corner, alcove or specific viewing angle
- Two-tone leaf colouring, replicating the natural variation between newer and more mature foliage
- Round pot base for stability
Where It Works
- Small corners — the compact 60cm width fits where a fuller plant wouldn’t
- Low-light rooms — north-facing living rooms, internal corridors, anywhere real fiddle leaf fig would struggle
- Living rooms and studies — a genuinely sculptural statement piece
- Offices and receptions — part of our office artificial plant programme
Care
Inspect for dust regularly. In a dusty environment, wipe with a damp cloth when it starts to look faded. That’s the entire maintenance routine — no watering, no light requirement, no leaf drop to sweep up.
Outdoor Use
Suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as covered balconies and verandas. Prolonged direct sun and heavy rain shorten the life of any artificial foliage.
