Artificial Bamboo Plant — 2.4m (8ft)
At 2.4m, this is one of the tallest artificial plants we stock — genuinely tall enough to screen a balcony, divide a room, or fill the vertical space in a double-height entrance where nothing shorter registers. It’s built on real bamboo trunks: differing lengths and thicknesses of genuine bamboo culm, dressed with artificial foliage to remove the maintenance, pests and constant leaf drop of a living specimen.
Bamboo in Feng Shui
Bamboo is one of the most widely used plants in feng shui practice, found in homes across Asia for generations. Its meaning comes directly from its structure: the stem is hollow and flexible rather than rigid, which is read as a symbol of resilience — bending under pressure without breaking, and allowing energy to flow freely through the open centre of each segment rather than being blocked.
Traditional feng shui also places bamboo at the intersection of the five elements — water, wood, fire, earth and metal — making it one of the few plants considered to harmonise all five simultaneously when positioned well. That’s much of why bamboo appears so consistently in the corners of homes and offices across Singapore: it’s placed deliberately, not just decoratively.
Real Trunks, No Upkeep
The trunks are genuine bamboo — not moulded plastic — which is why they carry authentic nodes, natural colour variation, and the slight differences in width and curve from one stem to the next that nothing artificial fully replicates. The foliage is artificial, removing the two real problems bamboo brings indoors: constant watering and misting to keep humidity up, and the steady leaf litter real bamboo sheds onto floors below.
Why Not Real Bamboo?
Living bamboo in a container is demanding. In Singapore’s climate it needs watering more than once a day during dry spells, drops leaves continuously, and running varieties will escape a pot and spread into a planter bed if given the chance — which is why established bamboo is notoriously difficult to remove once it takes hold in the ground. An artificial run gives you the same screening effect and the same feng shui symbolism, without any of that.
Where It’s Used
- Balcony privacy screening — genuinely tall enough to block sightlines from a facing block
- Room dividers — separating a living area from a dining or work zone without a physical wall
- Double-height entrances and lobbies — filling vertical space standard-height plants can’t reach
- Offices — feng shui-considered placement in corners and entrances; part of our office artificial plant programme
- Events and weddings — instant height and screening structure; see our wedding décor range
