Artificial Bamboo Plant ~2.1m

2.1m of real bamboo trunk with two-tone artificial foliage — tall enough to actually screen a balcony, and treated so the canes never attract borers.

  • Height: Approx. 210cm — taller than most artificial floor plants
  • Trunks: Genuine bamboo culms, pest-coated, with natural variation in width and shape
  • Foliage: Two-tone leaves — lighter at the crown, deeper green through the lower three-quarters
  • Pot: Plain black plastic pot — drops into a decorative planter
  • Care: Wipe with a soft cloth, or rinse under water
  • Placement: Indoor and sheltered outdoor

Screening a balcony or dividing a space? Bamboo works in runs, not singles — most screening jobs take five to eight units. Send us your measurements and we’ll work out how many you need.

Screening a Balcony with Artificial Bamboo

Bamboo is the screening plant, and the reason is proportion: tall, narrow and vertical, so it blocks a sightline without eating the floor area or the light. In a Singapore condo, a line of bamboo across a balcony rail does what a solid screen can't — it obscures the view from the block opposite while leaving the space open and bright.

How Many Units?

Run to coverUnits (approx.)Typical use
1m2–3Narrow balcony section, corner screening
2m4–5Standard condo balcony width
3m6–8Wide balcony, PES boundary, seating divider
5m+10+F&B zoning, commercial screening, event builds

Allow roughly one plant per 40–50cm of run, and stagger the pots slightly front to back rather than lining them up dead straight — an irregular line reads as planting, a perfect one reads as a display.

Why Not Real Bamboo?

Living bamboo in a container is a demanding thing to keep. It's thirsty enough that a pot in Singapore sun needs watering more than once a day in dry spells, it drops leaves continuously, and running varieties will escape a container and take over a planter bed if given the chance. Then there's the reason it's rarely planted in the ground here at all — established bamboo is extremely difficult to remove once it's in.

An artificial run gives you the same screening effect with none of that, and it holds its density year-round rather than thinning during dry months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many plants do I need to screen my balcony?

Allow roughly one plant per 40–50cm of run. A standard 2m condo balcony typically takes four to five units; a 3m run takes six to eight. Stagger the pots slightly front to back rather than lining them up perfectly — an irregular line reads as planting. Send us your width and we'll confirm the count.

Are the trunks real bamboo?

Yes. The canes are genuine bamboo culms, which is why they carry authentic nodes and natural variation in width, colour and curve. Only the foliage is artificial.

Will insects get into the natural trunks?

Not with these. Untreated bamboo culms can attract powderpost beetles and bamboo borers in tropical climates, which tunnel in and leave fine powder and pinholes. Our trunks are coated to prevent it. It's worth asking any supplier this question directly — many natural-trunk products are untreated.

Why are the leaves two different shades?

Because real bamboo is. New growth emerges pale and darkens as it matures, so a living plant is lighter at the crown and deeper green lower down. Ours is graded the same way — lighter through the top, deeper across the lower three-quarters. Single-tone artificial bamboo is the most common reason cheap versions read as fake from a distance.

Can I use it outdoors in Singapore?

In sheltered outdoor positions — covered balconies, verandas, roofed walkways, shaded boundaries — yes, and the coated trunks handle humidity and occasional rain well. For prolonged direct sun, ask us about UV-stabilised foliage: the trunks will be fine, but standard-grade leaves will fade under Singapore's UV.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the foliage with a soft cloth, or rinse the whole plant under water — the natural trunks tolerate rinsing, which most artificial plants don't. Avoid high-pressure washing, which dislodges leaves.

Why not grow real bamboo instead?

Container bamboo is demanding. It's thirsty enough to need watering more than once a day in dry spells here, it drops leaves continuously, and running varieties escape their containers. It's also notoriously difficult to remove once established in the ground. An artificial run gives the same screening effect with none of that, and stays dense year-round.

Do you offer bulk or project pricing?

Yes. Bamboo is one of our most frequent multi-unit lines, supplied to condos, hotels, F&B operators, offices, developers and event builders. We quote by run length, deliver to site, install, and offer planter matching and scheduled cleaning. Send us your dimensions for a quote.
